This vase of daffodils begged to be painted as it sat on the dining room table. The sun highlighted the cheery golden flowers that were so haphazardly arranged in the crystal cylinder, its shape emphasized by an abstract pattern of long green stems. Daffodils have always been one of my favorite flowers. I love their cheerfulness in spring as they slowly poke their heads out from the cold, hard ground and signal winterís end. And as the warm sun nourishes their bodies they prepare to speak their joyful message of rebirth and new beginnings. Soon we will hear their large orange trumpets as they blast out a chorus of songs of happiness and hope.
