Winter Shadows

14 x 19 1/2 - SOLD
Weve probably all walked alongside a meandering stream on a sunny, late winter day at some time in our life. Its the kind of place one can find in most states from north to south, east to west, a place where one feels an incredible sense of peace and solitude. I have experienced many such a hike in Minnesota when the snow-covered world is just beginning to awaken from the long winter. I am always struck by the long, powerful tree shadows, such as this one, that slide along the snow banks, crossing the flowing stream to the other side. These towering humanlike forms speak of the nearness of spring. Their message warms the body and soul. It is about weathering difficult times with patience and trust . . . it is about renewal and hope.
